Damian Barr
Journalist,
Author & Playwright
Damian Barr, 29, is a writer, journalist and playwright. Recently he has talked politics with Julie Burchill, bickered about boots with Manolo Blahnik and cooked up a storm with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
Specialising in lifestyle features and social trends, he regularly writes for The Times, The Independent on Sunday, Harpers Bazaar, Quintessentially and Olive. Last year he was short listed for a prestigious British Press Award. This year his second play (co-written with novelist Laura Lockington) airs on BBC Radio 4. His first solo series airs on BBC Radio Scotland.
Damian’s first book, ‘Get It Together’, made the quarterlife crisis a household term and must-have malaise. Amazingly, it’s big in China. His agent waits patiently for the next book. Such wide-ranging writing and travelling brings him face-to-face with trends and their makers. He writes in his shed by the sea in Brighton and is a committed guerrilla gardener. Swing by for a cream tea.
